Woman Used Crowdfunding To See the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight Live

People are starting to call the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather match on May 2 as “the fight of the century,” and people are scrambling to get tickets to the monumental show on May 2.

If you don’t have your ticket yet, you might want to follow in Jah’s footsteps and use a crowdfunding platform to see the match live in Las Vegas.

Jah Kareem, a bottle service girl and author based in South Jersey, opened a campaign on GoFundMe called “Help Jah get to Vegas in May” to raise $1,500 (roughly P64,500) for her trip. And guess what? She raised it.

According to the description of the campaign:

I’m trying to go to Vegas fight weekend and because it’s a big fight, the prices are crazy for the flight and hotel. My girlfriends already booked so I’m the last one who waited too long… And I just purchased a house less than 30 days ago so…

If you donate more than $50 I will send you signed copies of both my books I wrote!

As of this story’s posting, Jah has already raised $1,747 (roughly P75,121). But if you think she’s keeping the excess, think again. She’s now trying to raise $5,000 (roughly P215,000) to help her friend raise money for her fight against breast cancer. Jah posted:

Once I hit my goal I decided to raise the goal to $5,000 and donate anything past my original goal to a a friend I went to high school with who is battling breast cancer. I haven’t seen her since high school but we talk here and there on Facebook. I saw her campaign a week or two ago and reposted it to get her some support. However, no one new donated. So I decided that since my campaign met its goal so quickly that if it continued to gain donations I would be able to make $5,00 in no time and donate $3,500 to her campaign. Her campaign goal is to cover medical bills and the goal is to raise $45,000. After I saw a man raised $55,000 to make potato salad on a similar site, I figured this was worth a shot.

Jah is still offering free copies of her two books.
