The University of the Philippines Pep Squad just bagged two awards fromย two-day Cheerleading World Championships (CWC) 2019 held in Takasaki, Japan from November 23 to 24, just less than a week after competing in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
The UP Pep Squad won the silver and bronze medals in the All Female Team Cheer and Mixed Group Stunts categories respectively.
They also placed fourth in the All Female Small Group Stunts, Mixed Team Cheer, and Cheerdance categories.
The last time the squad was a podium finisher in the CWC was in 2017 wherein they bagged two gold medals.
They will compete again in CWC 2021.

Aside from the UP Pep Squad, another Philippine team, the Dance Pull School of Performing Arts in Bacolod, won bronze in the Urban Cheer Dance Doubles Category.
