Nigel Ng–better known as Uncle Roger–became popular and meme-worthy when he criticized a cook’s method of cooking rice. The rice came out soggy and wet and his reaction was hilarious and, since we’re Filipinos, we all sorta agreed with him. It was funny but something we all hooked onto and related to at the same time.
Since then, he reached meme status and was launched into the internet limelight. He did cooking specials with other celebrity chefs and his Youtube channel garnered thousands of subscribers–and it shows no signs of stopping.
His latest video features world-famous celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, star of shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Masterchef. He cooks his own fried rice and Uncle Roger delightfully reviews Ramsay’s technique. And, amazingly, he approves!
