If you grew up in the 2000’s, chances are, you’re a fan of the Harry Potter series. If you are, then you definitely know Newt Scamander’s book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which first year Hogwarts students must read. And if you’re a die-hard fan (like this writer), you have a copy of the actual book.
The film adaptation of Fantastic Beastsย is still months away, but its latest trailer has arrived to tide fans over. The new trailer shows a young Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, as he arrives in New York. A key scene is when he enters the train station and he activates a Muggle-worthy lock on his suitcase to change its content from dangerous creatures to random Muggle items.
The film follows Scamander as he meetsย Magical Congress of the United States of America. The creatures in his suitcase escapes, and he must gather them all before magic and Muggle relations strain further.
Fantastic Beasts was written by J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potterย series. It is directed by David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films. It will premiere in November 18, and will be the first of a trilogy.
