Beyoncé fans, we got some exciting news to share with you. Remember when way back 2017, it was announced that Beyoncé would give life to the adult version of Nala in The Lion King? Now, we have an important update. Just a few hours ago, a 30-second snippet of the live-action movie was uploaded to the iconic singer’s YouTube channel! It is titled as #TheLionKing ‘Coming Home.’ We linked it down below so you can watch it.
In the video, we can finally see Beyoncé’s character talking for the first time. Nala can be seen talking to Simba, who is voiced by fellow musician Donald Glover. She convinces Simba to return to Pride Rock so he can sit on the throne. You will also get to admire the magnificence of the African safari landscape. It’s definitely a treat not only to the ears but also to the eyes.
“Simba, you have to take your place as king. We need you. Come home, ”Nala says.
Fans are quick to comment and express how excited they are to watch the film.
Aside from the two famous musicians, The Lion King will also be voiced by Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and Chiwetel Umeadi Ejiofor as Scar. Shahadi Wright Joseph will also be voicing the young version of Nala.
The live-action remake of The Lion King is directed by Jon Favreau and you can expect it to hit the cinemas on July 19. So prepare your popcorns and get ready to fall in line at the cinemas. As Scar himself said, “be prepared!” The Disney fan inside of me is bursting in tears and I can’t wait to watch it!
