Voice Actor of Haikyuu’s Nishinoya and BNH’s Bakugo Undergoes Throat Surgery

Voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto announced on his blog last May that he will be undergoing a monthlong hiatus this June due to throat surgery.

Okamoto is best known for voicing characters who tend to yell a lot more than they speak—such as Haikyuu’s energetic libero Nishinoya, Boku No Hero’s irritable Bakugo, and Shokugeki no Souma’s fiery Kurokiba.

Okamoto shared that he was experiencing throat discomfort when it was discovered that he had damaged his vocal cords. He then underwent an operation last June 1 and is now recovering at home.

Fans of the shows he voices for need not worry, though; he promised that he will return to work as soon as possible upon his doctors’ approval.
