Visa-free entry to Taiwan for Filipino travelers is still under deliberation but it might be extended until 2020.
In a statement, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted an assessment of the program’s effectiveness along with other departments and submitted it to the executive branch of the government.
Apparently, the visa-free entry of Filipinos to Taiwan has boosted tourism significantly with an increase of about 12.46 %.
Filipinos are allowed with a 14-day stay in Taiwan.
The report cited Taiwan’s Central News Agency, which said the program will last until July 31, 2020.
Taiwan started providing visa-free entry for tourists from the Philippines, Thailand, and Brunei in 2016.
