Award-winning actress and proud mother Coney Reyes has spoken up on the topic of netizens crushing on her son, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. During and after the Philippines’ midterm elections concluded voters were beginning to notice the 29-year-old’s good looks. It appears to have taken on a new level with people now teasingly referring to him as “Mayor Bae” or “Babe Mayor”.

In a report by Bandera his mother, Coney Reyes was asked for her opinion on the viral crush. Specifically, she was questioned on how she felt for the given monikers of “bae” and “babe”. While she laughed off the titles she also appealed to people: “Huwag naman! Huwag niyong tawagin ganu’n.” [Please don’t! Don’t call him that.]

She did clarify that it was not a big deal, especially since she knows her son is not thinking about love at the moment. “Actually, tinatawanan lang din naman niya. Wala lang! Kasi for him, everything ang Diyos na ang bahala diyan. ‘Yan pinagpe-pray ko rin nang maayos talaga,” She explained [Actually, we just laugh at that. It’s nothing!
