In April 2019, the journalist shared her experience with cancer in a column for the Philippine Star, where she wrote, “Iโve long made peace with my demise. My last will and testament โ handwritten amidst many tears โ is in the safe. I could Give Up. Succumb. Surrender. But I wonโt. While the very heart of me โ that chamber that stores my conscience and conviction, love and dreams, memory and self-respect โ remains unbreached, I will fight.”
WheninManila.com sends its condolences to the Macaraig family, as well as to her husband Paulo Alcazaren and their son.
