Tagaytay City is considered by many as a top travel destination. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Metro, driving a couple of hours to feel the cold breeze and gaze upon the beauty of the Taal Volcano is always a perfect plan.
If you want to level up your next getaway, I have a secret to share: just a 30 minute drive from the Tagaytay Rotonda, you will reach an estate called Twin Lakes, Philippine’s first vineyard resort community boasting of a real grape plantation coupled with a majestic view of Two Lakes (Taal and a man-made one). A retail arcade, low rise condominiums, and a hotel are some of the establishments already operational out of the numerous planned future projects in the area.
Arriving at this 1,200 hectare development in itself is already a real treat. Passing by slopes of mountains, I felt like I was at a European countryside.
My home for the night was Twin Lakes Hotel – an up-and-coming 5-star property that won the Best Hotel Development in Asia Award in Bangkok, Thailand recently. Open to the public since December 2018, I was really looking forward to what this brand new hotel has to offer.
The lobby is nothing short of grand. Inspired by classic European architecture, the interior design exudes of the utmost sophistication.
Towering ceilings, spaciousness, and great views of the landscape – this is definitely one of the best-looking hotel lobbies I’ve ever been to.
The hotel houses 122 roomsย starting at Php7,500 a night.ย
All of the rooms are airconditioned (although you might not need it often) and have the amenities of a standard 4- to 5-star hotel, including spacious verandas.
The bathroom is spacious with a separate shower enclosure.
It also has a bathtub that I totally adore.
Unlike other properties, I’ve observed that all of the rooms have a prime location. They are all located on one side of the hallway providing an unobstructed view of the scenery.
Here is the breathtaking view from my fabulous veranda – so relaxing and astonishing to lounge around in as I marvel at the vineyard terraces while hearing the birds chirp and seeing the trees sway.
As I further explored other parts of the hotel, I was in awe of how stylish and elegantly fashionable every corner was.
Catering to both business and leisure, the hotel offers these amazing amenities, as well:
A ballroom with a banquet capacity of up to 500 people.
It has a cozy lounge area, too.
A game room with board games and a billiards table.
A restaurant overlooking the Taal lake and the vineyard. Their weekend buffet is offered at Php899 for lunch and dinner, while breakfast is normally included in the hotel rate.
A heated pool to plunge in despite the cold weather.
And a decent gym where you can burn all of those calories after a hearty buffet meal.
Bond with Nature, Stay in Style – this is what Twin Lakes Hotel promises. During my short but very memorable stay, that’s what I exactly experienced and more. A proposition that many claim, but only a few can pull off; Twin Lakes Hotel is definitely a top notch higher than everyone else in the area because of its serene location, highly polished unique development, and stellar service – truly a rising star!
