It all started with a dream to build a public library with a chocolate shop and, of course, with a great love for books. “Since I was in elementary, I’ve been saving up for it because I really have a deep passion for booksย and because I love chocolates!” exclaims Tweedle Book Cafe owner, Jamie Perez Ong.
Now the public library she longed to put up has become a reality, albeit with a little twistโat wit is now a cozy, lovely spot in the Tomas Morato district, frequented by students, people who are just out to chill, and of course, book lovers like Jamie herself.
A long table serves as Tweedle’s centerpiece, where guests can read, work, or enjoy coffee.

Local and foreign titles abound at the cafe. Guests are free to pick up their choice read from the shelves.
Contemporary reads and classics, bestsellers, and more distinct titles are all featured in Tweedle.
“This place is really a combinationย of a library and cafe. When we were putting this up, my husband and I were thinking: people here love to read, but there aren’t many public places that allow them to do that. So we opened this cafe, not just to fulfill a childhoodย dream, but for it to become the go-to place for readers,” explains Jamie.
Names of literary greats mark the cafe’s ceiling.
The clocks take off from literary worlds, including J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
