“Belenismo” is an annual event in Tarlac province where municipalities put up magnificent “Belens” in a friendly competition.

The Belen is a traditional Filipino Christmas symbol that shows the nativity of Christ. It depicts the infant Jesus in the manger, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, the shepherds, their flock, the Magi and some stable animals, and is surmounted by an angel, the Star or both.
Many establishments in Tarlac put up their own Belens to showcase creativity and display the Christmas spirit.
