Almost every Pinoy travel has the Hinatuan Enchanted River in Surigao del Sur on their bucket list.
This stunning river comes with many legendary stories like why it has that blue mystical color and how deep it really is. Apparently, the Hinatuan Enchanted River has many unexplored parts and until today, its true depth is yet to be known. Moreover, there are legends that tell about the river’s protectors – that it is kept safe by diwatas and other supernatural beings.
Anyway, for those on a tight budget and those who can’t just make time on their busy schedules to go to Surigao del Sur, there is something close to Manila that comes close to the Hinatuan Enchanted River – the Bukal Falls in Laguna.
From the photos of Colleen Vidal, Bukal Falls somewhat resembles the turquoise water of the Hinatuan Enchanted River.
You can even take a quick side trip in Majayjay Church.
Colleen also gave a few details on how to get there from Manila and how much you need to spend:
-Ride a bus from Cubao/ Buendia to Sta Cruz: 140PHP
-Drop off at Pagsawitan
-Ride a jeep bound to Majayjay: 23PHP
-Drop off at Barangay Bukal
ENTRANCE FEE:
-Registration fee: 20PHP
-Tour guide: 300PHP (60PHP each for a group of 5)

Of course, if you visit, make sure to take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints. Let’s keep it clean and beautiful.
