The Manila Police District (MPD) will also implement a no-sail and no-fly zone along the Traslacion route, effective from January 6 to 10.

“Ipaalala lang natin na nag-iimplement na rin po ng no sail zone ang Philippine Coast Guard dyan po sa likuran ng Quirino Grandstand. At meron din po tayong no fly zone so bawal po magpalipad ng mga drones d’yan para na rin po sa kaligtasan ng lahat [Letโ€™s just remind everyone that the Philippine Coast Guard is also implementing a no-sail zone at the back of the Quirino Grandstand. We also have a no-fly zone, so flying drones is prohibited in that area for everyone’s safety],โ€ MPD chief Police Brigadier General Thomas Ibay said in an interview with DZBB.

Traslacion is one of the biggest religious events for Filipino Catholics. It commemorates the transfer of the image of the Black Nazarene from Intramuros to Quiapo Church in the 1700s, where millions of devotees join its annual procession.
