Tortang Talong Earns Spot on TasteAtlas’ Best Egg Dishes in the World

Tortang talong, also known as eggplant omelette, made it to the list of TasteAtlas’ Best Egg Dishes in the World!

The well-loved Filipino dish ranked second on the list with a 4.4 out of 5 rating. TasteAtlas described it as a “simple Filipino dish made with a combination of roasted eggplants and lightly beaten eggs.”

They also called it a “versatile delicacy,” emphasizing that it is traditionally served with steamed rice and tomato or banana ketchup.

“Inexpensive and quickly prepared, tortang talong can be enjoyed at any time of day as a hearty breakfast, lunch, or dinner,” the online food guide added.

TasteAtlas even provided restaurant recommendations for where to eat tortang talong, including Sarsa Kitchen and Bar, La Preciosa Restaurant, LZM Restaurant, Fely J’s Restaurant, and 8065 Bagnet Restaurant.

Securing the top spot is Japan’s ajitsuke tamago, commonly known as marinated soft-boiled eggs for ramen.
