Now, weโve come to the TOP 3 TV shows of 2016. Honestly, any of these shows could have garnered the top spot on my list. Ranking these was really difficult. In the end, I based it on how the season made me feel and how confident I would be about their upcoming seasons. So, here we goโฆ
3. Westworld
Iโm sure many of you thought this would be my #1 choice; and, it was well on its way to being my number 1โฆ but, Iโm not so sure that season two can top season one.
I felt the same way about Mister Robot, and I was right. Westworld season one was just amazing. The storytelling was unique and the attention to detail was unparalleled. Every item, every gesture, every movement meant something. It was so meticulously beautiful that I donโt think it can be repeated in season 2. I truly hope Iโm wrong.
2. Game of Thrones
Season 6 was probably the most satisfying season of Game of Thrones. In fact, the last 2 episodes gave us some of the BEST TV EVER! The โBattle of the Bastardsโ (episode 9) was even better than most of the movies that came out this year. Unlike Westworld, however, I think Game of Thronesโs success in season six can be repeated. Thatโs the only reason Game of Thrones is slightly higher than Westworld.
You might be asking; โWhat could be better than Game of Thrones or Westworld?โ So, hereโs my numero uno TV show of 2016โฆ
1. Stranger Things
This show pays homage to a lot of 1980s movies (like ET, The Goonies, etc.) and does it well. Youโd think Winona Ryder would be the one carrying this show; but, youโd be wrong. Wynnona was great and all; but, the break-out stars were definitely the kids. All the other shows in this list had great actors leading the stories; but, the kids in this โlove letter to the works of Stephen King and George Lucasโ put them all to shame. Itโs a eerie yet feel-good series that can only get better. I hope those kids donโt grow up.
