Weโre sure youโve heard of Tipsy Pig. The one in Capitol Commons has made a smashing name for itself! So opening a second branch in The Fortย is only a testament to how the dishes in this gastropub deserve a second temple where converts can come worship the food.
Weโve checked the place out for you and, letโs just keep this straight and simple: We give Tipsy Pig Forbes Town Center our seal of recommendation. The food did not disappoint, oftentimes exceeding expectations, but thereโs really no surprise there. Tipsy Pig is a well-loved resto, and for a damn good reason.
Other than the usual best sellers, which are the Beer-Can Chicken, the Crispy Pata, and the Sisig Tacos, here are the other dishes that definitely put the โtipsyโ in the name. Why? My friends and I joked that the “tipsy” (the pleasant not-too-drunk, not-too-sober feeling you get when you’ve had a few good drinks) in Tipsy Pig is caused by the superb food that’ll make you feel woozy from satisfaction.
Without further ado, here are 5 other Tipsy Pig dishes you definitely need to try as well! (Above all else that we loved, too.)
5. Tokwaโt Belly 3-Way
Guys and gals, listen up. This is the only three-way you should ever get involved in. Itโs a three-layer appetizer of fresh Japanese tofu at the bottom, crunchy roasted pork belly in the middle, and crispy tofu fried to golden perfection to top it all off. The ensemble rests on a classic soy and vinegar mixture, which wraps-off that traditional tokwaโt baboy experience that Filipinos love. We love it. Weโre crazy about it. And that is just the beginning.
4. Crispa (Crispy Belly Pizza)
Pizza. Who doesnโt love pizza. More so pizza topped with generous amount of crispy pork belly, roasted garlic spread, bacon aioli, and garlic soy. Pork belly and bacon, guise. Thatโs all you need to know, really.
3. The Tipsy Burger
I donโt know about you, but thereโs something about a classic cheesy burger thatโs quite hard to resist. Tipsy Pigโs Tipsy Burger is one of those. Itโs a mozzarella, provolone, and American cheese stuffed burger with tomato confit, caramelized onion, and bacon all sandwiched between toasted oatmeal buns. Itโs that big, cheesy burger thatโs a gift from the generous burger gods.
2. Spicy Buttered Shrimp
This is probably one of the best shrimp dishes youโll every have. Arguably, even the best. That was the case for us, at least. This dish is comprised of shrimp sauteed to absolute perfection drenched in spicy butter sauce. The dish is finished off with buttered bread to help you clean the plate off. Because we promise you, every last drop of this dish will be worth it.
1. Tipsy Kare-Kare
Think of the best kare-kare youโve ever had. Now multiply that by, like, ten, and youโve got Tipsy Pigโs version of the classic Filipino dish. What makes this dish special is the roasted pork belly as opposed to the usual ox tripe, and their special (read: exceptional) peanut sauce. It was quite hard to decide which of the two is the real star of the show, so for now weโd call it a tie. Although, really, the peanut sauce is a story all in its own. Youโll have to head to Tipsy Pig to know exactly what we mean.
Let me just leave it at this: If the way to a manโs heart is through his stomach, itโs Tipsy Pigโs kare-kare you should bring toโonce and for allโwin that oblivious rascal over.
Here are the usual best sellers that are an automatic MUST-TRY when you visit Tipsy Pig in the Fort:
And, of course, the beers!
For those who aren’t big fans of beer, Tipsy Pig has something for you! Their flavored beers are perfect at making this drink lighter on the palette! Salted Caramel Beer, Raspberry Beer, and so many more flavors to help you enjoy beers and become a Tipsy Piggy for the night!
Salted Caramel and Raspberry flavored beers
Located at Burgos Circle at Forbes Town Center, just minutes walk from the offices in the area, Tipsy Pig has got that โThank God Itโs Friday Paydayโ vibe written all over it. Itโs the place to flock after a hard weekโs work and you just want to loosen the tie, roll up the sleeves, and treat yourself to great food and great beer. Because, really. If youโre gonna be braving the after-work rush and traffic, you better be braving it for here. We promise it will be worth it.
