Award-winning Kapuso actress Therese Malvar is actually related to Philippine national hero Jose Rizal.
As written in the book by Rizal’s grandniece Asuncion Lopez Bantug called “Lolo Jose: An Intimate and Illustrated Portrait of Jose Rizal” a page shows that the “Inagaw Na Bituin” actress is one of the descendants of Rizal.
According to GMA Network, this is because General Malvar’s son married one of Rizal’s sisters.
