Star volleyball player Jia Morado tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Miguel De Guzman last November 11, 2021. Of course, fans excitedly followed the big event through social media.

With celebrity weddings, people always look forward to seeing what’s what and who’s who. One thing fans adored about Morado’s wedding was her gorgeous gown.
The volleyball star donned a beautiful backless gown designed by local fashion designer Pablo Cabahug.
Cabahug shares with WhenInManila.com that he was introduced to Morado through a mutual friend. Cabahug even admitted that he’s a huge fan of the athlete and that he had been following her career since the 76th season of the UAAP.
“It feels surreal that I get to make the wedding dress of, for me, the best setter in our country in Women’s Volleyball,” says Cabahug.
He also reveals that Morado didn’t have any ideas on her dream dress, so Cabahug started sketching several silhouettes that would flatter her body.
He played around with specific design elements that would match Morado’s personality. “Simple, elegant, conservative but sexy,” he says.

“I wanted to show skin,” he also shares. “I wanted it to be a bit daring and veer away from her usual court image and celebrate her femininity by being strong and confident. That’s why I made it backless.”
Looking at the wedding pictures, Cabahug definitely did a wonderful job encapsulating Morado’s strength and confidence.
