One of the world’s most memorable and well-loved television dogs is making a comeback, and the kid inside each of us is jumping for joy!
According to PEOPLE, Clifford the Big Red Dog is returning to TV for a reboot together with his best pal Emily Elizabeth. The show originally aired in 2000, though the massive pooch made his big debut way back in 1963 through a children’s book published by Scholastic which was written and illustrated by Norman Bridwell.
This reboot promises a whole new set of adventures for Clifford and Emily Elizabeth on Birdwell Island and aims to boost early literacy skills and encourage imaginative play.
What’s different about this show is that the two best friends will now be able to speak to one another! Each episode is also going to feature one original song.
It’s unclear whether Clifford’s doggy friends in the 2000 cartoon, Cleo, T-Bone, and Mac, will also be making their comeback.
