The current coronavirus outbreak that started in China has a major impact on many businesses all over the world. One that is taking a huge hit are farmers growing dragonfruit in Vietnam. Since China has suspended the import of the red fruit, its price has been taking a dip and farmers are experiencing major losses.
Due to this, dragonfruit is simply being disposed of as waste because of the small demand in the country cannot catch up with the huge supply of the said fruit.
One bakeshop has put on its creative thinking hat and has started using the said fruit to create pink-colored bread that is starting to be popular with many people.
ABC Bakery has reportedly already used 33 metric tons of dragon fruit to create pink bread, according to the Business Insider.
Mr. Kao Sieu Luc, the General Director of the Asia Bakery and Confectionery (ABC Bakery) Co.Ltd., has come up with the idea of making dragonfruit bread to help farmers in Vietnam.
The dragonfruit baguette is a huge hit among customers.
