Gerard Way‘s Netflix adaptation of The Umbrella Academy is allegedly coming back for a second season. The Netflix adaptation dropped in February with 10 episodes. It has received many great reviews and the show has already been called one of the most successful digital releases of 2019 so far.
The show is about a family of people with superpowers who has to “work together to solve their father’s mysterious death while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.”
The Umbrella Academy is said to be renewed for season 2 and will begin production later this year, according to a report from The GWW.
Production will be in Toronto with Peter Hoar set to direct the first episode. Hoar directed the show’s pilot as well as episode 10 of season 1.
There is no information yet what season 2 will be about but if you’ve seen the finale of season 1, you can speculate that the family might be taking a trip back in time.
