When In Manila, what makes a distinctive alfresco dining style?
You’ve got the view …
Stunning pool side tables overlooking the bay…
An intimate warm and homey feel…
ย Good music…
And of course great food. ย Perched at the 31st floor roof top at Vivere Hotel & Resorts, The Nest indulges your senses with the right combination of good food, music and mixes.
I’ve been on this rooftop couple of times before and have always loved the food and ambiance but now it has revamped rather nicely with a new design, still with home-style classic comfort food and a new selection of concoctions that makes it the newest drinking address no one should miss.
But first, on to my favorites …
The Crispy Catfish Salad is a delightful green mango salad topped with crispy fried flaked catfish meat, onions, peanuts & cilantro leaves – Php 390
Mango Salad with Scallops – Grilled scallops wrapped in spinach and bacon, topped with hollandaise ย sauce, served with mixed greens, feta cheese and mangoes, tossed in a refreshingly good strawberry vinaigrette – Php 475
For appetizers, the Beef Salpicao is Vivere’s best-selling sizzler with tender US beef chunks, cooked in lots of garlic, and served with mash potato. ย Tender and tasty and perfect with drinks – Php 450.ย
We had Sangrias, and its probably one of the best I’ve tasted so far with its ingredients that put a nice twist to it. ย Its hand-crafted, expertly mixed with all-time classic infusions by David Dennis. Strawberry Cinnamon Sangria and White Peach Lychee Sangria – Php 320.
The Buffalo Chicken Wings, also a best seller is five fried chicken wings, given a kick by a hot and spicy glaze, served with Blue Cheese Dressing – P380.
