The E-Waste Project

ย General Invite (1)

Unclean air, unsafe water, hazardous soil, toxins everywhere- what can we do about this? Our planet is not safe anymore because of different hazardous materials that our electronic devices have. Feeling reluctant to dream of a better world? You shouldn’t be. There is still hope.

UP Circuit, DLSU ECES, PNU UNESCO Club, UP Manila Medicine Student Council, SSC Communication Society and Mapua MICRO brings you The E-Waste Project. By this, dreaming of a better world will be much easier. With your open handed help, we can heal the wounded earth and we can restore the hopeful youth. The E-Waste Project is an effort to address the issue of environmental hazards associated with the improper disposal of e-waste. E-waste drive will be conducted in different universities wherein people are encouraged to donate their old and/or defective electronic gadgets.

The E-waste drive will be held on these following dates and venues:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  DLSU: August 26-30, 2013

The collected e-waste will then be sold to Envirocycle, a duly accredited company by the DENR that specializes in the proper disposal of e-wastes.

The proceeds collected will be used as funds for AKBAY (Advanced Knowledge for the Betterment of Aspiring Youth) โ€“ a socio-civic project which aims to improve computer literacy in the Philippines. This year, with your help, we aim to provide at least ten (10) new computer stations to AKBAY 2014โ€™s beneficiary school, Caloocan High school.
