Well this is… interesting, to say the least!
While we’re still getting over Dubsmash, there’s a new social media in China, and that is the belly button test!

What is it, you ask? Basically, this involves you taking a photo of yourself while reaching behind and around your waist to reach your belly button!
We totally bet you tried to do it.
IF you can’t, in China it means you’re too thick or fat– or just plain inflexible.
Though both men and women participate in the trend, it’s mostly women who do it, who are usually seen in the photos wearing a midriff of some sort, whether a crop top or a swimsuit that bares their waist! According to reports, this highlights the obsession of China with thinness.
On Weibo (apparently the Chinese Twitter), the hashtag –which translated in English means “reaching your belly button from behind to show your good figure”– for the belly button test has been mentioned over 130 million times!! That is intense!
Still, this shouldn’t mean that those with more to love should have anything to be ashamed of.
What do you think of this Chinese trend?? Do you think it will catch on in the Philippines?
