Ahhhhhh….. Nothing beats a heartwarming bowl of your favorite noodle dish on bed weather days. Now that it’s the monsoon season again, why settle onย those unhealthy instant noodles, when you can get to experience and taste the real thing?
And of course, when it comes to noodles, Binondo, Chinatown always comes to mind! Here’s a list of 4 well respected restaurants that are known for making exquisite noodle dishes to help you on your next noodle craving! Best thing aboutย this list is that, all of them can be found at Lucky Chinatown Mall,ย for a more stress-freeย noodle foodtrip feast in Manila!
Lomi at Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant
I never thought that the makers of Chinatownโs โincomparableโ fried chicken and other well loved authentic Amoy dishes would also offer one of my most favorite comfort food dishesโฆ. the LOMI!
Enjoy LOMI just the way you like it! Thick egg noodles in rich flavorful stock loaded with a hefty mix of shrimps, kikiam, chicken, meatballs and veggies. Best eaten when hot. Bagay na bagay tuwing malamig!
LOMI the Sincerity wayโฆ. prepared with sincerity, made with love.

Classic Chicken Mami (P130) and Tai Pao Siopao at Masuki
Siopao at Mami ba ang trip mo?ย For distinctly delicious mami soup and dimsum dishes, remember Masuki!
Their history goes way way back over 40 years ago and they are hailed as an institution in the Philippine culinary scene. =)
Until today, Masuki continues to serve the same honest to goodness recipe that their founder, John Ma made more than 40 years ago. Because they keepย their excellentย standards plus a continuous growth of regular patrons, itโs safe to say that our well-loved Masuki will be around for generations to come.
Over the years, people have even developed their own way of enjoying their favorite Masuki mami and siopao. Hereโs a example on how my friend does itโฆ
she pours the asado sauce in her mami bowl
mix, mix, mix!
She then dips the siopao in the soup before devouring the whole thing!
Iโm a big siopao fan and Masukiโs Tai Pao (P85) is definitely one of my most favorite! Nothing beats their perfectly soft steamed bun filled with chunks of sweet savory aromatic asado and salted egg! OOOOhhhhh la lah!!!

Singapore Laksa (P388) at Tao Yuan
Iโm very fond of eating Laksa (I actually like this more than ramen) whenever Iโm in Malaysia or Singapore. I havenโt really explored Laksa places around Manila though, but Iโve heard quite a lot of good reviews with Tao Yuanโs version.
Good thing they have a branch at Lucky Chinatown, so I did not have a hard time in finding them. When I saw their menu, I was thrilled that they also offer other Singapore favorites like Hainanese Rice, Ba Kuh Teh, Singapore Seafood Hofan etc. =)
I must say that I was very much impressed when my bowl of Laksa landed on my tableโฆTake a lookโฆ
The aroma itself made me drool and seeing those huge prawnsย made me even more excited. ..*GET IN MY BELLY NOW!!
Laksa consists of rice noodles or rice vermicelli with chicken, prawn or fish, served in spicy soup; either based on rich and spicy curry coconut milk
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the taste of the soupโฆ super rich, creamy and spicy just the way I like it! Highly recommended!

Braised Beef Noodle Soup (P295) at Shi Lin
When it comes to authentic Taiwanese Cuisine at very reasonable prices, I prefer going to Shi Lin. They specialize in dumplings, buns, and noodles- hand made, fresh everyday! I believe they are also pretty much known for their Xiao Long Bao.
Their Braised Beef Noodle Soup is something that I also find comforting during cold rainy daysโฆ. Best enjoyed with other dimsum classics and Xiao Long Bao!
