When asked about the plans for Gang Gang Chicken, Joey Marcelo share that the immediate plan for the brand is to be the undisputed #2 for boneless fried chicken.
“We have high respect for 24 Chicken for being the market leader and establishing this young category. At the same time, we believe in our product and have full confidence that Filipinos would love to have boneless fried chicken with REAL TASTE –not just the sauce. In the future, we see both brands as alternatives to each other; just like McDonald’s and Jollibee. In the same way, you go to Gang Gang Chicken because you prefer it over 24 Chicken.”, Joey added.
When asked for tips to budding entrepreneurs, Joey shared that there is never a right time to start a business. “Those who wait for *something* before they start are unlikely to start anything at all. “I want to start a business kaya lang wala pa ako capital”. When the money comes, “I can’t start yet because I don’t have a good supplier pa”. Then “I can’t start yet because I can’t find the right space”. It’s a never ending cycle of “I can’t” s. Maybe we should be a little more courageous and just go. Start your business, head down, make your way through. Give yourself a chance to make it NOW”, Joey shared.
