As Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour in Singapore nears, plenty of scammers are beginning to pop up online pretending to sell tickets to the concert and taking advantage of the desperation of Filipino Swifties who want to watch the singer live.
Among those victimized was young actress and singer Sofia Pablo who shared a Facebook post by Philippine Concerts warning netizens of falling for these fraudulent acts. “This scammer is in his cruel summer era, with nearly 15 million pesos taken away from over 100 victims in the Philippines,” the post read.
“Iโm one of the 100 victims :(((” wrote Sofia in reply.
In the comments, she clarified that she had tried to buy March 3rd tickets to The Eras Tour in Singapore.
With Singapore being the only stop in Southeast Asia in the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker’s world tour, it can’t be helped that fans in the Philippines would try and seize any opportunity to buy tickets from resellers. Just remember to stay vigilant, do background checks, and not agree to pay for the ticket before making sure it’s legit.
