When in Manila, finding a good Mexican food joint that goes easy on the budget may be like searching for a needle through a haystack, but not anymore because…
Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina
ย
…now tucked along the humble foodie street in Kapitolyo, Pasig City is Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina. Opened just a couple of months ago, Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina is my go-to place for mean quesadillas, and here, “mean” means being uber cheesy.
Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina started in Dagupan City and was brought in the city to cater to a bigger crowd searching for budget Mexican food with a Filipino twist. I give them a slow clap for this otherwise I would have not met Silantro’s Quesadilla’s – this soft and warm tortilla oozing with cheese and all the good stuff. Dip it on that salsa verde and that’s perfection on a plate for me.

Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina is not only about quesadillas. There is more to this Mexican food spot than that and we had the privilege to sample other Pinoy-Mejicanoย dishes. The ย Silantro’s Burrito is another recommendation and you should not miss it when you pay them a visit. The burrito has a paella-like rice and tender bits of beef enveloped inside a soft sheet of pita.
