After being crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024, the beauty queen took to Instagram to share her journey to the crown.

“I was just taking a risk, trying to rid myself of fear. Outwardly, it may have seemed effortless, but deep down, I still doubted my potential to be a role model. Even after sharing my story and impacting others, I wasn’t convinced I could truly be her,” she wrote, sharing that she previously joined Miss Universe Bahrain in 2022 and placed 2nd runner up.

“I continued my day job as a TV presenter, feeling comfortable but directionless. I coasted through routines, avoiding the deeper changes I needed,” she continued. “Then I discovered Miss Universe Philippines 2023, Michelle Dee. Watching her journey inspired me and reignited my passion for pageantry, giving me hope during difficult times.”

The 29-year-old beauty queen also revealed that removing the age limit at the Miss Universe Bahrain auditions prompted her to relive the dream: “It was a moment of clarity—a chance to pursue my true self. This journey has been about breaking free from limiting beliefs, stepping out of my comfort zone, and letting my inner strength shine through.”

As Shereen represents Bahrain at the Miss Universe stage, she will also advocate for single mothers and those struggling with mental health.

“Mexico, here we come!” she concluded her heartfelt Instagram post.

The Filipina-Bahraini beauty queen is set to join fellow Filipina contenders at the upcoming Miss Universe 2024 pageant, including the Philippines’ Chelsea Manalo, Filipina-Kiwi Victoria Velasquez Vincent, and Filipina-British Christina Chalk. The Miss Universe coronation night is taking place on November 16 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico.

In addition to being a beauty queen, Shereen is also a successful model, content creator, and journalist. She is also a steadfast advocate for women’s empowerment and mental health.

“Please do not ever let anybody dictate and tell you who, and what you should be, and what you can and cannot do,” she said on an Instagram video when asked for a message to all the young girls out there.
