Asian boy bands and girl groups have long been dominating the music scene now. It has been 12 years now since JPY Entertainment formed the Korean girl group Wonder Girls and they haven’t formed more since then, inlcuding miss A and TWICE. Now, four years after forming TWICE, they are back with a brand new girl group at the helm: ITZY featuring Chaeryeong, Lia, Ryujin, Yeji, and Yuna.
Another reason why ITZY is getting so much attention is because both Chaeryeong and Ryujin have competed in Korean television shows before.
