Sarah Geronimo proved her undeniable talent and global impact as she graced the 2024 Billboard Women in Music at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California, today, March 7.
The Popstar Royalty made history as the first-ever Filipina to receive the Global Force Award alongside Brazilian singer-songwriter Luรญsa Sonza and Italian singer and record producer Annalisa.
Sarah slayed the blue carpet in a stunning pink Michael Cinco gown. Her wolf-cut hairstyle also added glamour and fierceness to her overall look!
During her blue carpet interview with hosts Rania Aniftos and Lilly Singh, the “Tala” hitmaker talked about the award’s significance to her as an artist and Global Force honoree.
“It’s very unexpected to be considered a global force. For me, a global force means having that influence, that power to influence people. It also comes with a big responsibility, right? You have to be mindful about the materials that you put out there, so you have to create change and positivity towards other people,” she said.
The singer-actress even recognized her mother, Divine Geronimo, whom she called her hero.

“Shoutout to my mother, Mommy Divine Geronimo, you are the best, you are my hero, I love you very much. I mean, I cannot imagine myself being a mother, all the sacrifices that a mother has to do for their child, it’s mind-blowing.”
Meanwhile, in her acceptance speech, Sarah expressed heartfelt gratitude to Billboard Music Awards for recognizing women in the music industry and all Filipinos who supported her.
“I humbly accept this award on behalf of every amazing, excellent Filipina, Filipino artist back home and all over the world. Iโd also like to take this moment to thank God first for the gift of music. Hindi ko po inisip, hindi ko po pinagarap na mararating ko po yung ganito [I never thought, I never dreamed that I would reach this], that Iโll be able to deliver a speech in front of an international audience.”

Muli, ako si Sarah Geronimo, isang Filipina. Maraming salamat po, mabuhay ang OPM [Again, I’m Sarah Geronimo, a Filipina. Thank you so much. Long live, OPM].”
