When in Sagada, Mountain Province there are so many ways to get happy.
This place is like Baguio so many years ago. It’s the raw, cold kind of mountain life. This has been in my bucket list for quite some time & I was glad to have ticked it off the list with friends who had it on theirs too.
We left early morning of Friday and arrived around 4pm. Prepare for a good 12-14 hour drive for this, depending on the number of stopovers you will have. We got the tour with van included from Manila.
Day 1
1. Km 52 Highest Point
Around 3 hours away from Sagada we got to stopover at the highest point in the Philipine Highway System in Atok, Benguet. After those hours of traveling, the coldness of the air here was pure chill. Scenery was nice too and so was the stretching of feet.
2 . Misty Lodge
This has got to be one of the homiest lodges in Sagada and I would highly recommend anyone going to Sagada to stay here. Just check out the photos to find out for yourself.
3. St Marys Church
After settling in our stuff we went to town and visited the quaint St. Mary’s Church. This was built by the American Missionaries in the 1900s. The old feel & great lines of architecture inside made it nice to hang out for a bit that afternoon.
4. Yoghurt House
We got hungry right after so as recommended by some blogs we tried the Yoghurt House. Sagada still has a lot of foreigners and that evening there were more than us Pinoys. We ordered Baked Chicken with Potato Roti & Vegetable Salad, Sauteed beef in onions. But truth be told, this place is overrated. The yoghurt too sour and maybe its the rudeness of the waiters/waitresses that made it even more that way. Sadly out first dinner in Sagada was a little like Yoghurt House … sourness.
