On March 16, Australian Singer-Songwriter Ruel (Ruel van Dijk) opened his first Asia Tour in Manila at TEATRINO in Greenhills, San Juan for his debut album Ready. This 17-year-old rising star is making a name for himself in the music scene with numerous chart-topping hits like “Younger”, “Dazed and Confused”, and “Don’t Tell Me”; each amassing millions of listeners around the globe.
His talent in producing songs with so much groove and soul is certainly undeniable.
In fact, he even won as 2018’s Breakthrough Artists for “Dazed and Confused” at the ARIA Music Awards. He is also nominated as this year’s Favorite Aussie at the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
His Ready Tour 2019 in Manila was a night full of feels and dancing for everyone. Before he went up on stage, Syd (@syd.hartha) and Heart Salvador of The Voice Kids PH warmed up the concert as the first acts.
After much excitement, “Golden Years” queued up as Ruel entered the stage. It was then followed by crowd-favorite “Dazed and Confused”. He kept the groovy, RnB flow with “Not Thinkin’ Bout You”, but started capturing the hearts of the audience with emotion-fueled songs “Weathered” and “Say”.
The venue was filled with whoops and cheers as Ruel covered The Weeknd’s iconic hit “Call Out My Name”. He then resumed with “Who Did That to You”, “Painkiller”, and “Bellyache”. He ended the night with the crowd singing along to “Don’t Tell Me” and “Younger”.
Ruel’s Ready Tour 2019 will continute at Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur.
