[Review & Giveaway] NewKube: Smallest MP3 Player Now in Manila!

THE DESIGN

I am really amazed at how this small gadget which is made of plastic (and is incredibly light!) can produce music and carry features which is competitive with other mp3 players – bigger than its size. It measures 1″ x 1″ x 1″ and weights only 18 grams. – but it is incredibly powerful!

Each surface of the cube is used to place mp3 player functions:

(Top Left)

Next Song/Jump Folder – allows you to go to the next song, or folder/specific song location.
Volume – turn up or down volume.

(Bottom Left)

Repeat Button – – lets you to playback the same song, all songs in sequence or in random; not found in comparable simple MP3 players
On/Off – Lock Switch – I love the lock switch function that prevents accidental push on buttons especially when traveling or commuting.

(Top Right)

Micro-SD Card slot
USB/earphones slot

(Bottom Right)

Play/Pause Button – press it and enjoy your music!

I love how it is so small that you can easily put it in your bag, purse or pocket. However, because of its size and shape, it is a bit challenging to keep and carry. The edges are a bit sharp unlike the usual flat mp3 players.

A key ring on its surface may be ideal to hang it in your ID lace or bag.

THE SOUND QUALITY

The newKube mp3 Player produces crisp and balanced sound. I literally abused it by turning the volume up to check if it does break or crack – the sound quality is consistently good.

I tried listening to love songs, mellow music, rock (with hellish vocals) and even boy band music (with a lot of dancing) and the music quality is not a disappointment. Probably it can even produce a better quality music when paired with high-quality earphones.

THE PRICE

The newKube mp3 Player is affordable at Php1,599. It is available in selected Astrovision and Astroplus stores.

THE VERDICT

I love how cute and compact the NewKube mp3 Player is, with such a good (and expandable) music storage and sound quality – it is a good buy!. It is too stylish and makes a perfect gift for all your fashionable and kikay friends. For guys, it sure makes a good conversation-starter – girls would surely notice the cube!
