Remember how almost everyone loved our previous tourism slogan, “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”? Well, the Department of Tourism (DOT) just launched “Experience The Philippines” as its new tagline. According to the department, they will publicly announce the details on June 12 as we celebrate Independence Day.
DOT believes that the campaign will help the country to further boost our tourism industry as they encourage more people to experience the Philippines.
And of course, given our reactive nature as Filipinos, netizens have a lot to say about the new slogan. Read some of the reactions below.

Experience the Philippines
Parang “we’re not promising fun or safety or anything, but it’ll be an experience.”Husay.

“Experience the Philippines” feels lame when compared to “It’s more fun.” Fun > Experience. I wonder how they’ll promote. IMF was great.

Our new tourism slogan is “Experience the Philippines.” HAHA! WTF does that even mean? Sabagay an overcharging taxi driver is an experience

“Experience The Philippines”
“Experience The Trolls”
“Experience The Fake News”
“Experience The Injustice”
“Experience The Incompetence”— Mark Anicas (@mnanicas) June 8, 2017
Despite the mix of good and bad reactions, we hope that the new slogan will not only strengthen the country’s tourism industry but also promote sustainable tourism and responsible traveling.
