Just like first responders, the fourth-year students of the Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations (BAPR) program, Section 2D, at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), are set to hold a workshop event titled “Brand-aid Bootcamp: First Response to PR Crisis” — featuring Charmaine Pidal Pahate, Managing and PR Director, and May S. Manuel, Marketing & PR Consultant, as the esteemed speakers.
The “Brand-aid: First Response to PR Crisis” is a comprehensive workshop event that aims to assist AdPR and communication students in effectively navigating and managing PR crises. This workshop will cover topics such as writing press releases, managing media blackouts, and analyzing PR crises. Participants will learn from expert speakers, join insightful discussions, and engage in hands-on activities to better understand industry dynamics and best practices before, during, and after a PR crisis.
“We hope that through this workshop, we provide essential skills for participants that they can use in the public relations field,” says Lara Grace Bagalangit, the project head of Brand-aid, in response to her expectations for the workshop event. “I hope that this workshop will not only teach the participants necessary skills in public relations for the brands they would handle and work for in the future but also help them learn to be more critical of the responses and the way brands manage crises,” added Jan Anjelo Serrano, the assistant project head.
The “Brand-aid: First Response to PR Crisis” workshop will be held on November 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the College of Communication (COC) Audio-Visual Room, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Sta. Mesa, Manila.
