Jaclyn Jose’s management, PPL Entertainment, has confirmed the veteran actress’ passing in an official statement.
“It saddens us to inform everyone of the untimely passing of Miss Jaclyn Jose (real name Mary Jane Guck),” the statement read.
PPL Entertainment emphasized that more details will be shared as soon as they are available. It also reiterated that Jaclyn’s respective families request respect and privacy as they mourn her passing.
“The Guck and Eigenmann families are requesting for everyone to please pray for the eternal repose of Miss Jaclyn Jose and for them to be allowed the respect and privacy to mourn her passing, and navigate these difficult times,” the management added.

According to ABS-CBN, Jacyln had not been responding to messages and calls from her relatives, which prompted them to ask for someone to check on her. She was found lifeless in her home in Quezon City shortly after.
ABS-CBN also reported that her colleague, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, confirmed her passing on March 3 before PPL Entertainment released an official statement. Meanwhile, several celebrities, such as Gardo Versoza, Dimples Romana, Kylie Padilla, Alden Richards, and Gladys Reyes, paid tribute to the actress.
Jaclyn is known for her remarkable contributions to the Philippine film and television industry. The renowned actress earned recognition in FAMAS, Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, Metro Manila Film Fest, and The Eddys.
She made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her role as a matriarch and drug dealer in the 2016 drama film “Ma’ Rosa.” Jaclyn also appeared in popular films and series, including “Olongapo: The Great American Dream,” “Takaw Tukso,” “Itanong mo sa Buwan,” “Patay na si Hesus,” “Ataul: For Rent,” “The Flor Contemplacion Story,” “Mula sa Puso,” and her recent project, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
She is survived by her children, Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck.
