Pinoy Food Truck “Senor Sisig” Gets Featured on The Food Network
Senor Sisig, a Filipino fusion food truck in the SoMA (South of Market) district in San Francisco and considered as one of the most popular food trucks in the said city, got featured on The Food Network’sย “Diners, Drive In’s & Dives”.
Guy Fieri, the host of the show, said that “you’ll never know where they’re gonna be so you gotta check them out on their website.”
Senor Sisig is said to be a cross of Filipino and Latin American food. “Back in 2010, they started mixing Mexican with, get this, a sour pork Filipino dish called sisig.”
Senor Sisig is owned by high school pals Evan Kideraย and Chef Gil Payumo.
Chef Payumo stays true to his roots by sticking to his grandfather’s sisig recipe, which is their signature dish.

Then, it progressed into โSisig Matuaโ or โkilawin baboyโ of the Tagalogs. According to my grandparents, this dish became popular becauseย expecting mothersย believe that the pigโs cartilage in the sisig can make the fetusโ bones stronger. Is it true? Maybe so. Do you know that Angeles City isย the โSisig Capital of the Philippinesโ and we have Aling Lucing to thank for that! The Sisig queenย reinvented sisig and contributed a lot to how it sisig is at present! Her legacy continues until now! […]
