It’s sad day for Philippine Basketball: one of Philippine’s best basketball legends passed away.
Caloy “The Big Difference” Loyzaga, who ledย The Philippine basketball team in the 1954 FIBA World Championship,ย ย passed away at the age of 85 due to cardiac arrest.
Caloy Loyzaga, whose basketball achievements was well recognized not only in the Philippines but worldwide, began his road to the Basketball world in San Beda College.
He then became one of Asia’s best basketball player, leading the Philippine team to two FIBA Asia Championship gold (1960,1963) and four Asian Games Gold medals (1951, 1954, 1958, 1962).
The Philippine team won Bronze in the 1954 FIBA world championship.
