From classic OPM powerhouses like Ogie Alcasid, Sarah Geronimo, and Gary Valenciano to P-pop groups like SB19 and BINI, Filipino artists were recognized at the 16th PMPC Star Awards for Music.

Held on October 27 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza in Makati City, the prestigious award-giving body honored emerging and popular music acts in the country.
SB19 bagged the most awards last night, taking home major prizes such as Song of the Year and Album of the Year. The P-pop boy group also won awards for Dance Recording of the Year and Group Concert Performer of the Year.
Additionally, popular love team Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano won Male and Female Pop Artist of the Year for their songs “Biglaan” and “Bagumbilya.”
Meanwhile, veteran OPM names such as Gary Valenciano and Homer Flores were honored as Lifetime Achievement awardees.
According to the PMPC Star Awards’ Facebook page, voting and deliberations occurred among PMPC members days before the awards show.
