Following the massive success of her GUTS tour and a sold-out concert in Manila, Olivia Rodrigo has reflected on her touring experiences, sharing that touring holds a special place in her heart.
In an exclusive interview with Teen Vogue, Olivia expressed her excitement about performing in the Philippines, which turned out to be the biggest show of her tour.
“I was so excited to do the Philippines show. I have always wanted to go there. That’s the one show I was looking forward to the most in all 95 dates that we put up; that was the one that I was looking forward to just because I’ve never been, and it’s a place that has so much significance to me and my family, so I really wanted to make it special,” she said.
The Filipino-American singer also revealed the inspiration behind her “Silver Star” tickets, each priced at a flat rate of P1,500 ($25), regardless of the seat tier.
“I really wanted to make sure that it was accessible, and it was really exciting to me to think that maybe someone who usually couldn’t afford to go to a concert could afford to go to this one,” she continued.
With the Grammy-winning pop star’s sold-out concert in the country, she donated all proceeds to Jhpiego, a nonprofit organization that empowers women and supports women’s health.
“I’m so proud of all the work we’ve done and all the money we’ve gotten to donate to these charities through Fund 4 Good,” she shared.
Olivia Rodrigo was recently dubbed Billboard’s “2024 Touring Artist of the Year” following the global success of her first arena tour. The 21-year-old sensation held her first-ever concert in the Philippines on October 5 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
