The agency noted that supporting steel poles will temporarily remain on-site to allow “concrete curing of the bridge.”
“With this development, traffic flow in Marilao northbound will now improve and normalize in the next few days,” it emphasized.
Initially set for completion within two weeks, NLEX Corporation has reassured motorists that they are expediting the repair work, adding, “Originally scheduled for completion in two weeks, NLEX accelerated the repairs, with teams working around the clock and with the expedited delivery of the fabricated steel needed for the bridge.”
“We thank the motoring public for their utmost understanding and patience while repairs were ongoing. Rest assured that NLEX continues to intensify safety and traffic measures in key areas of the expressway to ensure the safety and convenience of our valued customers,” the statement concluded.
On March 19, an 18-wheeler truck exceeding the vertical clearance damaged the Marilao Interchange Bridge, leading to the temporary closure of northbound lanes 2 and 3.
