Power Pop sextet My Ex-Girlfriend is set to launch its newest video for their new single “Aminin” on August 17 at Skinny Mike’s sports bar in Taguig City.
The newest video, a sequel to the video of their first single “Kasama Ka Vs. The Universe,” follows the story of the two girls who fell in love with each other. The band says that this time though, the song was specifically made for the story to flow through.
“We were so impressed by the acting of our characters in the first video that it inspired us to continue their story. This new song is actually tailor-made as a follow-up to the second video, every word of it,” Box Garchitorena, vocals of My Ex-Girlfriend, explains.
The video for “Kasama Ka Vs. The Universe” is a hit when it was released on Facebook in March, getting more than 131,000 views and more than 1,600 shares. It also premiered on MYX Premiere on February 16, 2018.
The sequel to the video still stars Justine Ramirez and Jaymee Castillo, but this time, joined by theater veteran and award-winning actor and budding playwright JV Ibesate.
Bands Telegrama, Ube and The 28th will join My Ex-Girlfriend on stage on August 17.
My Ex-Girlfriend released other singles last year including a four-track EP titled “Makakasama Na Sana Kita, Kaso Napanaginipan Kita” and their version of the Sharon Cuneta classic “Bituing Walang Ningning” which they claim to have “power-popped.” All these songs are now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and also available for download on iTunes.
