Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega Share What It’s Like Behind the Scenes of “Voltes V: Legacy”

In an exclusive interview with GMA’s ATM (Adventure.Taste.Moments), Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega talked about “Voltes V: Legacy”. Love team YsaGuel is among the lead cast of the most talked about upcoming Filipino-made sci-fi series.

Ortega revealed that the production team had been shooting for the entire 2022. Upon the release of the show’s mega trailer, Tanfelix said that they are about 80% done with filming.

He also said that shooting the scenes where they would be inside the battle machine Voltes V was one of the most-exciting taping days for him.

Then, he went on to talk about how they shot these scenes. “Nasa green [studio] kami, may rig don, tapos ginagalaw talaga siya habang nakasakay kami,” he recalled. “Before namin i-shoot ‘yung scene na ‘yon, pinapanuod namin kung anong nangyari kay Voltes V at sa kalaban niya so nakita na namin ‘yung effects.”

“Honestly, para akong nanuod ng Hollywood film. As in,” Ysabel added. “Tsaka sobrang laking tulong nung CGI effects kasi sobrang realistic talaga tignan,” she attempted to explain but “hindi ko madescribe, kailangan niyo talagang mapanuod.”

Apparently, they were in a locked-in taping in the beginning and the robot scenes have not yet been finalized at the time. “Ang meron lang kami storyboard,” she told ATM, “and it was just pictures so ang hirap i-visualize.”

But now, she explained that it’s easier with the CGI in place and their new shooting system. Voltes V: Legacy‘s CGI effects are works of GMA Post Video graphics and Audio team and Riot Inc. Post-Production.

The actress has a huge appreciation for the entire production team as well, for helping them portray their roles. “Na-aappreciate ko rin na they’re doing their best to make us believe the scene talaga,” she continued. “Kasi ang hirap talaga na puro green screen lang ang nakikita mo,” she expounded.

In line with this, Miguel admitted that he first thought that the series’ effects were made by Japanese filmmakers which are definitely not. “Kung anong mapapanuod niyo, gawang ating ‘yon. ‘Di niyo inexpect na ganoon tayo kagaling.”
