Michelle Dee wowed her supporters and pageant enthusiasts during her grand homecoming on December 10 as she stunned in another Apo Whang-Od-inspired gown designed by Mark Bumgarner.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 wore a white bodice with tattooed sleeves, straight-cut pants, and a flowy train attached to her waist. According to Bumgarner, it references her Miss Universe evening gown in white.
“The asymmetrical design gives it an edgy and modern look, yet remaining to my aesthetics; clean, structured, elegant. The traditional Kalinga tattoo design was integrated in a more subtle way, as a nod to the legendary icon, Whang Od, and as a representation of our indigenous peoples,” he explained.
