The Rooms

This seven-story high hotel has 132 rooms in total that cater to all types of guests: friends, families, business travelers, you name it. Each of them has a distinct design, but they are all patterned to the alluring charm of nature, giving them an organic feel and a certain warmth.

Their Loft is perfect for big groups. It can accommodate up to six people with a queen-sized bed on the ground floor and two bunk beds on the upper floor. For barkadas and families of four, book the Family Room B. This 24-square meter room has two pull-out beds, giving you an intimate space to bond in.

Other rooms include the Deluxe King, the Twin Room, Family Room A, and the Junior Suite. Aside from the amazing murals, what I love about the rooms at Mella Hotel is their three-way comfort room setting. The sink, toilet, and shower room are all separated to make things more time-efficient for people in groups. This added functionality alone proves that Mella Hotel really makes an effort to give their guests a staycation like no other.

Dining

You don’t need to leave just to eat some delicious food. Depending on the date and time, you can feast on various Filipino favorites at sulit prices.

There’s a breakfast buffet for every checked-in guest where you can eat typical silog meals, sopas, arroz caldo, yogurt, macaroons, and more. I highly recommend their Ube Champorado. It’s a unique take on the usual chocolate sticky rice staple Filipinos know and love.

For lunch and dinner, you can either order from their a la carte menu or get a set menu. The a la carte menu composes of several innovative dishes with a Filipino touch. For example, their steak comes with three kinds of sides: potatoes, mashed potatoes, and ube. Surprisingly, all three complement the meat’s mouth-watering umami extremely well.

For their dessert, try their Deconstructed Halo-Halo Cake. Imagine all of the components of a halo-halo plated on a platter with ube spongecake and leche flan as its base. It’s a beautiful mess that tastes exactly as it looks. Other must-tries: Paella Negra, Mella Hotel Burger, and Potato Croquettes.

Their Set Menu is good for four pax. It comes with fried chicken, adobong sitaw at kang kong, pares, pansit, four glasses of gulaman, and four cups of rice with frozen brazo as the dessert.

On Sundays, they also have a noon-time promotion called the Salu-Salo Sunday Buffet (Php800++/head). This is my favorite among all of their dining offers! Here, you can take delight in the best of the best of Filipino food. They have lechon, bringhe, and pansit canton, as well as the kwek-kwek and mangga at bagoong that I mentioned earlier.

This is the only buffet that I know of that includes famous street food options in their arsenal.

Their variety of kakanin, halo-halo, meringue, gulaman, and mango sago will also make you fall in love with the dessert station.

The Cafe

Conveniently enough, Mella Hotel has an in-house cafe that is open up until 10PM.

You can buy coffee, cakes, and even alcoholic drinks here, which you can enjoy as you chill by the lounge or al-fresco on their veranda.

I recommend trying their Turtle Pie; it’s sinful yet oh-so-satisfying.

Guests and visitors alike can take part in their Saturday Chill Out sessions, too. For only Php599, you can drink and dance the night away with unlimited beer and sangria.

To make it more fun, unlimited bar chow is also available. Their calamares and chicken satay are the bomb!

The Facilities

In need of some serious relaxation? Visiting the hotel spa will not disappoint.

After a long and tiring day, you can say goodbye to your muscle aches as you bask in the calming ambiance of their spa center and recover through the hands of their resident expert masseurs.

Who says your staycation has to be all rest and recreation, though? You can also work up a sweat and hit the gym if you want! They have a high-end fitness hub complete with equipment for a full-body workout.

There are multiple TV screens available to keep you entertained and motivated, as well.
