When In Manila, whether it be an incredibly big sweet tooth or the craving of savory meals from the finest ingredients from all over the world you MUST visit the quaint little chocolate factory in the heart of Makati: Chocolate Fire.
If you’re an avid Twitter freak and you follow celebrities such as Raymond Gutierrez or Solenn Heusaff, you might have caught one of their tweets about where they would chill & get their chocolate fix from.
Chocolate Fire is located at the heart of Makati at the corner of Leviste and Rufino street in Salcedo.
Once you’ve entered, it almost felt like home! Cozy and inviting. I heard it was packed with people when the storm hit Manila last week! Who wouldn’t want to cuddle up in their nice sofas and drink their premium hot chocolates?
Check out their counters! Mountains of scrumptious chocolate barks, truffles & dipped goodness!
I came with Arveen. Of whom, I owe credit for the lovely photos. Thank you!
A beautiful plate of chocolate arrived.
Sili chocolate, of which I had to have it repeated when it was introduced to us. Yes, chocolate with red pepper! I could see the seeds when I snap em. The first bite was interesting. I am a big big fan of spicy food! The first of this combination though. Once you’ve passed the spicy kick in your month, you’ll come to appreciate the wonderful flavors of the milk chocolate surrounding it. But then, don’t forget to keep water near!
It’s hard to pick a favorite! The crunchy honey comb was sooo good. Pringles were the best salty-sweet combination I’ve ever tasted & those cookie dough bites were so soft & yummy but if I really had to choose, it would come down to the truffles! Soft & surprisingly, discretely sweet. The sweetness wasn’t over powering. The chocolate shavings on top literally melted away & the coconut had such nice texture. Quoting Solenn Heusaff as this is also her favorite: “I just died again and reborn a new woman after eating @Chocol8FIRE ‘s truffle chocos!!! Guys,be part of my world, and try it! #CanDieHappy
What’s great about Chocolate Fire is they just won’t stop at their chocolates. Their variety of savory dishes also amazed us. Had a brief conversation with how food here in Manila has been over saturated with fast food chains and the likes. People have been consuming so much salt, sugar and other extenders that when they taste good REAL food, they forget what it actually tastes like!
This Mortadella sandwich (Php 260.00) made with cold cut sausage, emmenthal, mozarella, fresh basil, sliced black olives, sundried tomatoes and romaine was so good!!! Definitely coming back for this specific dish. It screamed freshness in my mouth.
Penne Pesto Roma w/ tuna (Php 280.00 +) of which tasted light and perfect with a glass of wine!
When In Manila definitely check out Chocolate Fire in Salcedo Makati for an authentic take on savory Italian meals & beautifully created chocolates!
