Maldita Studio Salon Provides the Perfect Hairstyle at an Affordable Price and a Great Location
When In Manila, maintaining your manes can get a little expensive. That is why I usually dye my hair myself. Sometimes, I end up with unintentional ugly tri-colored hair, though.
Itโs been a while since I have been to a good salon. For me, a good salon is a salon that has a good ambiance and location, wonโt cost an arm and a leg, and has stylists that I can trust.ย It is at Maldita Studio Salon where I found all 3 of my criteria.
I was greeted by their very accommodating hostess, Joana. I was then shown my seat beside co-WIM contributor Raisa where we were both introduced to our respective stylists.ย We were set to get a hair makeover!

I requested for my hair to be dyed a shade darker with some highlights and a ton of rejuvenation.ย Stylist Vinz was assigned to me along with his equally skilled assistant Maui; while Raisa got a full hair color and a trendy new bob cut by her stylist Marvin. They are all professionally-trained by LโOreal.

When you enter Maldita Studio Salon, you will immediately feel the cleanliness of the place. Even though Maldita Studio Salon is already a year old, there is not a single dim light. I love how bright the placeย is; it makes everything look clean, and everything is clean. The mirrors had no fingerprints on them; there was someone assigned to sweep the floor every time something touched it; and the walls were immaculately white. The seats were comfy; the towels smelled good; and the staff was friendly, too.
ย The salon is very big, as well, so you wonโt need to worry about them not having enough seats to accommodate you. Maldita Studio Salon also has an exclusive VIP room where you can get pampered in seclusion (read: own mirror, ownย chair and own hair washing station- very posh!).
The salon is equipped with high-end gadgets and tools, too. They also offer a wide variety of services including the typical mani/pedi, foot spa, color, perm, rebond and STEAM bond (which I might come back for). Did I mention they also have free WIFI? Yay!
A good stylist is one who is hands-on with your hair. In other words, even though they have an assistant, they will still insist on being there every step of the way, if not totally doing it themselves.
After personally dyeing half of my hair; Vinz meticulously picked, colored and wrapped 32 strands of highlight foils. You can tell how passionate a hairstylist is by the proximity of their faces when they inspect your hair. Both Vinz and Maui were so serious that it looked like they were looking at my hair through a microscope!
My stylist was not only there during the colouring process, but was also there in the washing area to check if the color came out right. Their salon closes at 7PM, but because of the thickness and length of my hair, we did not finish until 10:00PM and not once did I feel like they were in a hurry to leave.
I will not say that this is an affordable salon, but for the amount you will pay and the quality of service and results that you will get, it is definitely worth it. Maldita Studio Salonโs tag line is: I am Perfect! Well, I could say that my hair looked perfect when I stepped out of the salon!
When In Manila and in search of a salon, this is it! Iโm definitely bringing my sisters here and will definitely be recommending them to my friends, as well.
