Skip the Arm Workout and Make Coffee the Easy Way with this Kori Kohi Recipe

For the past few weeks, Dalgona Coffee has been all the rage. This frothy coffee drink has been recreated so often that it has graced our social media feed one too many times. It’s pretty simple to make. All you need are four ingredients. However, whipping them together can take a long time.

If the idea of an arm workout seems too tedious for you; we’ve found a fuss-free, simple way to enjoy your coffee: in the form of Kori Kohi!

A Japanese-style drink (particularly popular at UCC Vienna Cafe), Kori Kohi is a drink made up of coffee ice cubes, hot milk, and sugar. The hot milk will gradually melt the coffee, which will finish off as an iced coffee drink. And the best part? You don’t have to worry about your drink getting watered down!

Kori Kohi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Instant Coffee
  • 1.5 cups Hot Water
  • Warm Milk
  • Sugar (optional)

Procedures:

  1. Melt some instant coffee in some hot water and mix it until it is dissolved. You can use brewed coffee, too, if you’re feeling fancy.
  2. Let it cool down, then pour it into an ice tray. (Don’t overfill it, though!) Let it freeze overnight.
  3. If you like your drink sweet, make a simple syrup by heating sugar and water in a pot. Stir until dissolved and let it cool down.
  4. Fill your glass with coffee iced cubes.
  5. Pour warm milk over the coffee ice cubes, add your simple syrup, and then mix.

Done! Simple Kori Kohi. Alternatively, you can make a non-coffee version using chocolate tablea or matcha powder instead. If you’re craving for milk tea, you can even make the ice cubes with tea!
